We are growing about 50 different kinds of tomatoes this year, may of which are heritage varieties.

Heritage Tomatoes

All tomatoes listed are Open Pollinated Heritage tomatoes that you can save seeds from for next year. The only hybrids that we grow (these are indicated as being hybrids) are tried and tested varieties that are exceptional in their flavour and performance and are worth growing even though you can’t save their seeds.

Early Red Tomatoes

Mid-season Large Reds

  • Newgirl - SOLD OUT!!!
  • Grightmire’s Pride: Early-Mid season indeterminate.Pinkish-red heart shaped variety originally from Yugoslavia. Very meaty, low seed, low acid fruit with great taste. Prolific and easy to grow.
  • Pumpkin Mid-season indeterminate.Huge, heart-shaped pinkish fruit. Viperous sprawling vines need staking.

Brandywine style beefsteaks

  • Brandywine: Mid-Late season indeterminate. Pink coloured beefsteak tomato with green shoulders, famed for its rich flavour. 1-2lb fruits. Amish heirloom with potato leaves.
  • Black Krim: SOLD OUT!!!  Try Brandywine as an alternative
  • Prudens Purple; SOLD OUT!!! Try Brandywine as an alternative

Yellow/orange

  • Mennonite Orange: SOLD OUT!!! Try Gold Jubilee
  • Indian Moon: Mid Season Indeterminate.Large, round, yellow/orange tomatoes with few seeds. Unique flavour, much loved by growers. Rare. Originates from a Native Navaho tribe from New Mexico.
  • Wonderlight: Mid Season Indeterminate. Unique yellow lemon-shaped plum tomatoes with firm flesh. Mild flavour. Keeps well. Makes great salsa and ketchup. Originates from Russia.
  • Golden Jubilee: Early vining semi-determinat. Large, round, smooth yellow tomato with a mild, sweet flavor and low acidity.
  • Striped German: Mid season indeterminate. Large (1-2lb) yellow beefsteak with red stripes and marbled interior. Dramatic sliced in salads. Mild, low acid, sweet flavour. Produces until frost
  • Taxi: SOLD OUT!!! Try yellow pear. Wonderlight or Indian Moon as a substitute.
  • Garden Peach: SOLD OUT!!

Green

  • Emerald Evergreen: Mid-season indeterminate. Best-tasting green beefsteak (8-10 oz). Rich olive-green fruits ripen to a brighter shade of green with a golden yellow tint. Great for slicing, frying or conserves.

Cherry, currant and grape tomatoes

  • Yellow Pear; *Amarosia FAVOURITE*. Mid season, vigorous vining indeterminate. Mild, sweet-flavored, gorgeous little pear-shaped fruit. Very high yields.
  • Tigerella; * SOLD OUT!!! Try Red Striped Roman or Peacevine as an alternative
  • Tommy Toe ;Early fruiting, large sprawling plants. 1”, bright red, cherry tomatoes with excellent flavor and plenty of juice. Huge yields. A good choice for cooler growing regions.
  • Peacevine; Early Indeterminate. Very high in vitamin C and amino acids. Bears abundant bunches of 1” fruit with that delectable red cherry flavor.. High yields.
  • Gold Nugget - Early Determinate. Bush type. Deep Yellow 1″ diameter, round to slightly oval fruits. The flavor is well-balanced and low acid, and a majority of the early fruits are seedless.

  • Sungold -*Amarosia FAVOURITE* Early vining indeterminate. Best tasting cherry tomato. Exceptionally sweet, bright tangerine-orange cherry tomatoes.

Plum and sun-drying tomatoes

  • San Marzano; Mid Season Semi-Determinate. Prolific crop of meaty plum tomatoes perfect for canning, sauces and sun-drying. Excellent flavour. From Italy.
  • Red Striped Roman; Mid Season Indeterminate. Stunning and unique. These long, pointed red fruit have wavy orange stripes. Beautiful and delicious in salads and sauces.
  • Opalka Indeterminate, Mid-Season. 5-inch long meaty plum tomatoes with very few seeds. Great for sauces. One of the best tasting paste tomatoes. Originally from Poland
  • Russian; Mid Season, Indeterminate.Very meaty paste-type plum tomatoes. Perfect for our colder growing conditions. Sweet, mild flavour.
  • Purple Russian; Mid Season Indeterminate.A Russian heirloom tomato from the Ukraine. Produces huge amounts of purple-red, 6 oz., oblong, tomatoes with a blemish-free skin excellent sweet flavor. Popular with chef’s.
  • Black Plum; *Amarosia FAVOURITE* Mid season indeterminate with vigorous bushy growth One of the easiest tomatoes to grow. Small deep red colour with thin skins, ideal for freezing. One plant will feed a family!
  • Debarao;SOLD OUT!!!
  • Viva Italia; Early Determinate, vining. Sweet plum tomato known as the “Italian Stallion”. Meaty flesh ideal for sauces. Lots of hybrid vigour. Good disease resistance.
  • Juliet ; Early indeterminate vigorous vines. Saladette type tomato (1-2oz) ideal for sun-drying. Extra sweet with thin skins. Hybrid.

We will be selling both the tomatoes (in July to September) and the tomato seedlings (in late May/ Early June) at the Dieppe Market. Call ahead if you are interested in any of the seedlings so I can be sure to have the ones you want:-)
